1. Ownership of work
Photographers and videographers keep the copyright in their work unless they have agreed otherwise in writing. When a project is awarded, the accepted proposal records the usage rights granted to the customer: channels, territory, duration and exclusivity. Using work beyond those rights needs the creator's permission.
2. Portfolio rules
- Upload only work you created or have written permission to display.
- Confirm ownership when you upload. Portfolio items are not published without this confirmation.
- If you show client work, make sure your agreement allows it and respect any confidentiality terms.
- Do not edit someone else's work and present it as your own, and do not use stock or AI-generated imagery as your work without clearly saying so.
3. Briefs and reference files
Reference documents and files you attach to a brief are private. Look images you add to show the style you want are private too, unless you choose to show them on your public brief; they are never shown publicly when you ask for an NDA or confidentiality. Upload images and files only if you have the right to share them with the professionals you choose, and avoid photos of people who have not agreed to be shown. Professionals must not reuse a customer's confidential references or unreleased products outside the project.
4. Prohibited content
- Content that infringes copyright, trademarks or other rights.
- Content showing identifiable people without the permissions the law requires.
- Sexually explicit content, content exploiting minors, or content promoting violence or hatred.
- Personal data of others posted without permission, or private contact details in public descriptions.
- Misleading or fabricated portfolio items, reviews or credentials.
- Malware or files designed to harm devices or data.
5. Reporting content
Use the report option on a brief, profile, portfolio item or message, or contact us and choose the matching topic. Include a link or reference and a short explanation. We review reports and may remove content, ask for changes, or take action against accounts.
6. Copyright takedown notice
If you believe your copyrighted work is being used on Fotographer.in without permission, send us a notice using the contact form (topic: "Copyright or content takedown") that includes:
- Your name, address and contact details.
- A description of the work you own and proof of ownership where possible.
- The exact location (URL or reference) of the content you say infringes it.
- A statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorised by you, your agent or the law.
- A statement that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the owner or authorised to act for the owner.
- Your signature, typed or electronic.
We may remove or disable access to the content while we review, and we will tell the person who posted it.
7. Counter-notice
If your content was removed and you believe that was a mistake, you can reply through the same contact form with your details, a description of the content, why you believe you have the right to use it, and your signature. We may restore the content unless the complainant tells us they have started legal action.
8. Repeat infringement
Accounts with repeated valid infringement reports may be suspended or closed.
9. Models and property releases
Customers and professionals are responsible for obtaining the releases needed for commercial use of images of people, private property or protected works. Briefs for fashion and portrait work ask who will arrange model releases. Please agree this in the proposal.
